Why don't I ever get host?

Luckily ALL these host migration, and bad host connection problems will be resolved on the Xbox One.
EVERY multiplayer game will have a dedicated server on the Xbox One. That's the one major feature that console has going for it. Dedicated servers for every mp game will be a dream come true.

@ rippen if you are talking bout estimated cost. its because Embeded ram costs ALOT of money. not to mention they had to make the chip sligtly bigger to make sure the static ram had enough space to breath, driving the cost up more

thats why it is Estimated the cpu gpu combo costs more. And it was not very cost effective either.

 

Microsoft spent huge amounts of money on chip design, many times that of ps4. The audio chip alone is now being used by the military and AMD use it as on board audio for gfx cards. I am one of those that is sure there is more "under the hood" hopefully these
sdk updates will release more of the complicated architecture to developers and we can stop using these 8 year old games engines from the last gen.

 

F00xm4n the estiamted costs of the 2 chips are about 10 bucks apart. (embeding Enhanced SRam costs anywhere between 25-35 bucks alone) And that doesnt take into account the bigger chip MS had to use to give ESRAM the Space.

PS4 has AMDs true audio DSP.

Xbox ones "Shape" was never talked about that much by MS or devs.

There is nothing "under the hood" The xrays from chips works showed that.

 

I was talking about R&D Microsoft spent 3 billion with AMD and sony spent 300 million, still think it's nothing? I am not going to talk about actual chip x ray layers etc I was referring to drivers and sdk using esram and tiled resources which none of the
current games engines use. The crytek engine was not even using this and ryse is arguably one of the best looking Games! With a higher res then 1886. All I am saying is 3rd party developers are using old game engines let's see what the sdk updates allow. Developers
are already saying they can do 1080p easy now

The order runs at 1920 x 800

As for your other claim, Yes MS R&D was alot

Sony saved billions by co deving the New GPGPU ARC that is shared in the PS4 and Amd's new R7/R9 2013 gpus.

Sony brought alot to the table, These new GPU's for PC support MANTLE and allow low end CPUS run high end games well. on the R7 and R9 seris gpus that came out late nov.

MS lacks the new GPGPU Arc, This is why you see such huge diffrences now in games, And will continue to see them when the PS4 is the lead platfrom in deving.

Cerny talks bout these customizations alot, Infact its on the ps4 technical spec wiki. MS had very grave unfortunate timing, As AMD was a partner MS couldnt know about this due to NDAs by the time it was found out it was too late.

The gap is going to widen. MGS5GZ is only the beggining.

 

You see AMD was put in an akward sitiation, Mark cerny apoorached AMD about the new GPGPU set up, AMD liked this so they Teamed up, Sony got most of thier R&D done for them, For thier hardware talent.

MS timed thier consle wrong, The beans got spilt to late in thier manufactiong and they got locked into the deal. (seeing as it was a sony and AMD venture

The customizations in The PS4 and the new R9 seris GPUS allow low end CPUS to perform very well using Idle times on gpu to do CPU functions. GPGPU is a core part of the NEW MANTLE amd is pushing and currntly works only on R9s and R7 gpus (with the new gpgpu
memeory lanes and ace core que setup)

 

Not being funny but no one actually knows the facts and ins and outs its all rumours and speculation.

if i remember rightly when the 360 came out and people where buzzing on how good it is compared to PS3,the PS users said exactly what where saying give it time and lets see what happens.

consoles been out for what 4/5 months.the best time to judge it is in 12 months.

Its not rumors and specualtions Messiah, Its why we are seeing better frame rates and resolutions on PS4 games.

The technical Customizastions are on the freaking WIKI PAGE on the PS4 technical spec sub sections.

 

Messaih but yes the Xb1 SDk will improve, The xb1 is still a very good piece of hardware.

 

Ill judge everything after a good 12 months.maybe games will start to come out in 1080p maybe they wont.but 12 months is enough time.

he are both aoptimized for heavy GPGPU compute that will take massive cPU funtions and put them on the GPU itself when the GPU is idle (gpues are idle like 70% of the time as the render frames in millisecond timings and nanosec timings are used for compute)

Sony choose the cheap Jaguar cores because they knew that GPGPU would be pulling off straining tasks for basiacally free.

The Xbox one has an older 2011 GCN ARC it features 2 ace cores and none of the new 2013 customizations.

Thier GPGPU is limited because to use it GPU perfomance takes a hit (because it lacks a dedcated pipline passing the caches and lacks a the new custom que system)

The upclocks on the Xb1 where last minite panic when they found out Sony and AMD were locked into thier own deal. The Xb1 is going to be CPU bound this entire GEN because it lacks new GPGPU and they for some reason choose to use Sony's cpu choice, Not knowing
that Sony was actually spearheading new ARC with AMD.

Unforntunate timing. The ESRAM and genral gpu specs are not holding the Xb1 back, Its the Fact they lack GPGPU, and Xb1's cpu actually needs to to intensive work to talk to the GPU (something the PS4 can do for "free" cause of gpgpu)
