Troubleshooting Xbox 360 PC Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows.

So I recently bought a new Xbox PC Gaming Receiver. Now I tried setting up this device a couple of different ways. I plugged it in to my desktop yet no install window popped up and the device was listed as Unknown Device. I the. Tried to use the disc it
came with, though it set up everything the gaming receiver continues to be listed as Unknown Device. I need help here you guys. What should I do?

Controller not found in joy.cpl

XBOX controller is not used on the PC. If you want to play on the PC with XBOX controller you need Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver

support.xbox.com/.../xbox-360-wireless-gaming-receiver-windows or buy controller by logitech special for PC.

Connecting my Xbox 360 controller to Windows 8 laptop.

For wireless Xbox 360 controllers, you cannot use the charging cable to connect to a PC (it only transfers power, not data). To use the controller with a PC, you will either need an "Xbox 360 controller for Windows" (non-detachable cable) or use your existing
wireless controller with the wireless gaming receiver for Windows.

This is the wireless adapter you could use:

Hello,

after installing the drivers plug in the wireless receiver to your PC

Open Device Manager

Right-click "Unknown device" > "Update Driver Software"

"Browse my computer for driver software"

"Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"

Highlight "Show All Devices" > Click Next

This may take a second to load depending on your PC

Under Manufacturer select "Microsoft"

Under Model select "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows Version..."

Click Next

When you get prompted for the Update Driver Warning click "Yes"

Once your receiver is working, click the sync button on both the receiver and your wireless 360 controller and you should see a pop up from your System Tray about "USB Input Device" was detected... your controller is now synced.

Hello Cad,

Thanks for the update on how it is going. Only other troubleshoot we have is
connecting 360 wireless receiver to windows 10. Toward the bottom it has troubleshoot receiver.
