  1. Troubleshooting Step That seems to do nothing (Pair and Eject)

Since June 9th 2021, I had an issue (likewise with many others after an apparent update), it was working fine on the 8th or just before I went to sleep on the 9th at around 2am, to be utterly forthright.

So, I wake up at 8am and try using my Xbox One and all that shows is the green screen, then the greeting block at the bottom, and there's no home or pin screen, it's just black.

So, I could hold the Xbox button on my controller, "What do you want to do?" The regular buttons shows up--Turn off console, turn off controller, restart console, etc--and so I restarted it. I tried that multiple times. I unplugged and waited for a while too and still nothing happened. Nothing worked.

Then I tried the troupleshooting Systems update and troubleshooting online, and they ask me to press the Pair button and the eject button, and I do, or so I believe. I second guess because I'm not sure if it's a user error or if it's just not working at all. Cause when I first press that side button with the three lines and press the eject button, the xbox light button would blink. First couple of times it would make the eject noise but if done simultaneously it won't.

Then I am told to press the Pair and Eject buttons for 10 to 15 seconds and it would beep but that doesn't happen. I'm just holding it for 10 seconds, then 15, then 20, but still, no sound. Even when I let go at 10 seconds or let go at 15 seconds, still nothing.

The directions seem to be perceived as though the user should hear the "two power up tones" while holding these buttons down.

But how do I know I'm still holding the buttons down? Am I doing it wrong even though I'm pushing on against them both and waiting? Or what?

What should I do next to fix this black screen issue? I hope someone can help tell me how to properly press these buttons, if I am holding them down wrong, and if anyone had a similar issue yesterday or anytime in the past, how did you fix it?

    :)

My Xbox One wont show any picture (kind of)

    Hello StonedTurtle32,

Try to bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter, follow these steps:

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

Press and hold the Pair button and the Eject button on the console, and then press the Xbox button on the console.

Note: The Xbox Series S and the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition do not have Eject buttons. You can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter on this console by holding only the Pair button (steps 3 & 4) and then pressing the Xbox button.

Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.

Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone.

The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

To restore your console from the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter, select Reset this Xbox. When prompted, select the option to keep the games and apps.

If you are returned to the Home screen after the console restores and restarts, your console should function correctly now.
