    Troubleshooting Error E208


    Hi, So recently i’ve had a power outage and when O went to play on my xbox I was on the green Xbox screen for a few minutes until it brought me onto a something went wrong screen, I tried doing what it tells me to do lile restarting and turning is on and off but that doesn’t help. I really don't want to factory reset.

    Troubleshooting Error E208

    Hello @Madison_975!

    When you get this error you have two options. You can either try an offline update using a USB flash drive. The instructions for that are here

    Alternatively you may need to send it in for repairs. To arrange that just follow the steps on this link: Device Services.

    Troubleshooting Error E208

    Hi Madison,

    Scroll down to E208 in this support page, System update solution startup errors and follow the steps. If the first option doesn't work continue with the next option.

    More than likely the power outages have corrupted the Xbox operating system (OS) and the console OS will need to be reset. Keeping Games and apps when you reset should do the trick , but if it doesn't you will need to Factory reset deleting everything.

    If a complete Factory reset deleting everything doesn't work the console will need to be repaired.

    I've done the factory reset for error code e208. But I'm still getting the green login screen that won't stop. Do I have to do the factory reset every time I want to use my xbox?

    For the E208 error, we will be needing to reset the console keeping games and apps through Xbox Troubleshooter. If you keep on getting the same error code E208 even after the reset, or if none of the troubleshooting steps on this link: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne... resolved your startup error, I am afraid your console needs to be repaired.
