troubleshooting a microsoft account for xbox live. how to make the email for it

If this is your first time to create a Microsoft account and an Xbox profile, then no worries! I'll try to guide you how to do this.

First thing you need to do is to create a Microsoft account, this will be the account and email you will use to create an Xbox gamertag. If you don't have one yet, you may create one at https://signup.live.com you may choose to use a Microsoft domain such as Outlook or Hotmail.com. But if you prefer to use a third party email domain such as Gmail.com you may choose the option to "Use your email address instead".

It will ask you on that page for your password so just follow the on screen steps. After you are done creating your account, go to https://account.xbox.com/profile page next and sign in the Microsoft account you created. Here you will be able to create an Xbox gamertag or profile you will be using for Xbox live services.

Well she told me to just make a new xbox live account. Can I make a new xbox live account with my current microsoft email without making a new email?

Sorry to hear you're having issues connecting to Xbox Live. You have a tried a LOT of troubleshooting on this one!

Something that is often associated with that error code is when an account has been blocked .I would recommend checking is to see if this might be the case for you. Here’s how:

1. Go to the Microsoft account (formerly known as "Windows Live ID") sign-in page.
   
2. Enter the email and password that you use for your Xbox Live account.
3. If you see an email telling you that your Xbox Live account is blocked, follow the steps in the email to unblock it.
   

Note You may be required to access the original email account that you used to set up your Xbox Live account, and also to reset the password for your Microsoft account.

You'll need to change the Microsoft Account associated with the created Xbox Live account. Check out the steps on this

Microsoft Account Troubleshooter to get it changed correctly. You may need to create a third Microsoft Account as a "dummy" account to free up the account you wish to use.
