When the update fails, are you able to see something like "Error 201, Error 101" or similar?
If yes, tell me what's the error code that you're seeing

If not, are you able to see the option to factory reset but deleting everything?

please try the solutions mentioned on the following support page, some you haven't tried yet as far as I can tell:

If this keeps happening then it seems the console needs a repair as mentioned on the support page. When setting up a repair it will show if it is within warranty or not and what cost come with that (when outside warranty)

well.... i smashed it and bought a new one....

i hit reset this xbox and selected

“ keep games and apps but erase all accounts saved games but keep games installed “

and it powered off but loaded back to the original screen im posting about ! cooooome on man
