    Troubles installing B4B from Game Pass


    Hi there,

    I recently purchased a game pass ultimate subscription but when trying to install a game I got hit by an insufficient storage error. So I asked my brother for his 1 To external drive and connected it to my Series S, but when trying to install Back 4 Blood, it just doesn't work and only spits an unhelpful "an error occured" error message and cancels the installation.

    Any help would be appreciated, thanks

    I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

    As this game is optimized for Xbox Series S/X even if you install it on your external hard drive you won't be able to run the game. You will need to install the game on the internal memory or Seagate expansion card.

    In case you want to install it on an external hard drive anyway.

    Clean your console's MAC and try to install the game through the library or store.

    To clean the MAC follow this path

    Settings>general>network settings>advanced settings>alternative MAC address and click clear and restart the console when prompted.

    Seems like they had a fix for it back in January but then something else broke it. I was able to install Fh5 no problem but then went to install B4B and that's when things got wonky. Maybe it's B4B lol.

    My E drive is already formatted to NTFS, yes. And yes the game recently installed to C works fine. B4B and Psychonauts are installed in WindowsApp on E and appear just fine. Still issues with the games in the XboxGames folder on E drive not showing. Still go through with the partition?
