Trouble with an Octava HDMI Switch & Xbox One S

Hi!

I have an Xbox One S.

I also have an Octava HD41-ARC HDMI/SPIDF switch.

The switch is supposed to automatically switch to whatever input goes active.

Per Octava, I unhooked the One S & forced it port 1.

With the One S off I re-hooked it to the switch, it switched right away.

It looks like the HDMI on the One S is active all of the time.

It is preventing the switch from doing it's job.

BTW, this did not happen with my Old Xbox 360.

Is there a way to shut the HDMI off when it is off?

The other 2 items on this switch release the HDMI when they are powered off.

its the hdmi cable that im having trouble with which doesnt have a switch. do you mean the switch thats on the older cable what comes with the xbox? thanks

I just want to be sure this would work

I have an old dell plasma tv the xbox one would only go to 720p so im guessing thats all i got to work with, and it only has one hdmi port. I have been told that I can buy an POWERED HDMI splitter and that would allow me to switch from xbox dashboard to

Good post, I like the amount of info here to get started, for sure. One thing to note, the Xbox One S console may not work properly with third-party hardware that's meant to affect the HDMI ports, or switch them automatically. While I may not be able to
give any guarantees, one thing I might try is to change the power setting on your Xbox One S console to Energy Saving in order for the console to be fully powered down, this would include attached hardware and ports. From there, attach the Octavia switch,
then give it another try.

This may not work, but it might be something to try in the interim. Outside of that, not all hardware is a guarantee if not made my Microsoft/Xbox and no official support articles are available from Xbox.

Hi Prez

Have you switched on HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour in the GENERAL settings menu on your TV for the HDMI port thats connected to your One S because its set to off by default and until you switch this On the One S won't register the correct settings needed to
display HDR.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to directly connect or connect a Roku device to an Xbox One S console. The Xbox One S does not have a built-in feature or app that allows you to integrate or connect a Roku device within the console interface.
