  1. Trouble using 360 and Live

    Here is my issue(s):

For a long while I have been having trouble with the 360. Not just mine but others as well. We have 4 consoles in total currently. My oldest sons drive gave out and I gave him mine and eventually purchased another one. The issue I am having is signing in.
But only when connected to the internet. I have tried multiple connections. I have tried clearing the cache. And I have tried unhooking everything from the routers on these connections on down. I will detail yesterday.

    1. I turned on the console and connected to the internet with my sons account to see the sales. I was debating buying some of these games even though I have the disc version. Everything worked fine.

    2. I signed out and turned off the unit for the time. Came back later and selected download profile. Went through putting in my information and then it started.

    3. Came back later and selected download profile. Went through putting in my information and then it started. It took forever to download my profile. Then when it was done it went to the dash. At this point I noticed I was not signed in.

    4. I tried to sign in and this took forever. Then it came up and said something about checking connection and took me to the connection testing screen.

    5. I tested the connection. The same issue I get a lot happened and mind you this has been going on for a very long time and on multiple connections with my account. The issue is that is quickly finds the network and internet. Then it sets there and tries
for a very long time to sign into live. Eventually it gives me and error and I can view more and it says to reset router by disconnecting for 30 seconds.

    6. I disconnect the router for enough time and try again. I have done this quite a bit and it does not work. Not to mention my 3 sons can sign in no problem on their xbox 360 consoles on any connection. Even at friends and families houses on their consoles
    and others consoles.

I have tried clearing the cache and other things. And it seems to effect the whole console. While my profile is on these consoles they take forever to load the profile selection screen on startup. And they take forever to sign in. And they typically only
sign in on the other accounts when they do. Mine has, on occasion, signed in however. I will point out I had a similar problem for a very long time with these forums as well. Could not sign in and after a few years of reading here and occasionally posting
I quit for a long time because of this issue with the forums. This does not, as of yet, seem to effect the Xbox One I have. Neither one of them actually. Only on 360. The only issue I have with my Xbox One is that it takes forever for the hdmi output to
kick in sometimes (hope it is not a port issue) even though it has been hooked up in the same place since day one.

I am going to try it again in a few. But even if it works the issue keeps recurring. If anyone has any ideas on things to try other than clearing the cache, resetting the router, disconnecting the hdd, it would be appreciated

    :)

    Trouble using 360 and Live

    Hello Guerrero Ultimo,

There is currently a Service Alert for Xbox Live, which is preventing some users from signing in to Xbox Live.

Try again in a few and it should be fixed.

EDIT: It seems that the service alert is gone, so try signing in now.
