trouble updating new xbox system update

I've been trying to update the system today and it keeps on saying there was problem with the update... I dont know why its doing this at all....

am having the same issue and am kind of glad I am not the only one experiencing this. Last night I was playing on my Xbox One perfectly fine with absolutely no issues, and at about Noon today I had a system update that would not update. I have been waiting
and retrying about every hour and it isn't looking good. I tried Hard-Resetting, Wired Connection, and Wireless connections and nothings seems to work.

Try power cycling your console by holding the Xbox power button for 10 seconds or until it turns off. Boot it back up and see if the update still fails.

Not sure what method you were using for "hard-reseting" but give the power cycle a try. Some users have said they've done 3 back-to-back power cycles and that made a difference. Something to try in the meantime.

I am also having this same problem. Nothing seems to fix the issue as it continues to drop out every 2%. At first I thought it was just a console issue and was considering trading it in for a new one. Very frustrating hope it's fixed soon

 

I dealt with this last night, power cycling will not do anything (why do these reps always think it will). Somebody needs to update their scripts with real tech fixes.

Anyway, the only way to get through a download is to continuously click "try again". It should pick up where it left off. I spent last night downloading a 269 MB update, in over 50 parts. Only to find that now I can't download any updates for my games
either because of a issue MS refuses to acknowledge.

 

same here it just getting to the point were i dont want to play games now cause of this. dont they know that from now til xmas big titles are coming out they need to fix this and fix it now

 

For anyone still having an issue, please clarify whether you are in the Preview Program or not. If you are in the Preview Program then this will need to be directed at the Preview Support team via their Preview Program Support forums. If you are not
in the Preview Program, then the next thing to try is running the
Offline System Diagnostic Tool to see if you can get your update issue resolved this way. Please post back with your results.

In most cases, power cycling fixing a majority of problems (localized sign-in issues, game freezes/hangs, update install issues, etc.). This process clears the systems cache and some settings are reverted. It's always recommended because it's a quick and simple.
If it works then great, but if it doesn't then things get looked into a little more thoroughly. This same process was applied on the Xbox 360 for years for a variety of problems via a Delete Profile, clear cache, Re-download Profile and viola. In this particular
cache, a system update is failing and clearing the cache is a very valid point to start with.

 

I am also having the same issue. I turn my Xbox on and it tell me there is a new system update. I click start update gets to about 2% and then it says there is a problem and I have to keep clicking try again. Can't play any of my games online because it
won't let me go to the main menu unless I click skip the update and stay offline or do I sit there and keep hitting try again not sure if it's even worth and very *** off this is happening. Oh and I am in the preview program but every time people tell me to
go to their part of the forums, I click there link and keeps telling me group not found.

 

I am also having the same problem, not sure why. Has been going for nearly 2 hours and is making progress, I'm at 68%, not sure if it's a server error or what I just pray my system works OK once it is finally finished, I will update at 100%.
