Trouble switching profile

Yo

When I made my Xbox Live account, I used a non-microsoft email.

I'm trying to change it so my gamertag is now on a Microsoft email, but whenever I try it refuses to accept the password, instead insisting that it isn't valid.

Is it actually possible for this to be changed because it isn't originally a Microsoft Account?

Can't switch profile (not account).

So, I am having trouble with switching my profile on the XBOX APP. And not like switching my Microsoft account, I mean like my XBOX game profile. So on my 360 I had two of them, and comes95. I am logged on to 96 right now and want 95 because
thats the one with gold, games, and pics. So can anybody help me switch to 95? I am on Windows 10.

When you sign in, are you using a second controller or are you using one controller? Generally, I recommend signing out of that profile and signing into the intended profile of use unless both players are using the Xbox One. This reduces the chance for any
profile issues.

When you say it wasn't a Microsoft Account, what was it?

A domain of your own choice in e-mail, or an @xboxlivefamily.com e-mail

The email address used was from a domain of my own choice, not hotmail, live or any other Microsoft related account.

Maybe this was different in the past, but as far as I know whenever an email was used for an xbox live account, it also needs to be a Microsoft Account, since the xbox live account can only be placed on a Microsoft Account.

So if the email was from a different domain it also needs to be a Microsoft Account that has that email as 'ID'. (It is possible to create MS accounts based on a different domain email)

Which means that you should be able to login to
http://account.live.com with that email address (assuming you know the password to the Microsoft Account).

If you can't login to that link due to an incorrect password you will need to try and reset the password, you could do this via the steps here:

support.xbox.com/.../forgot-microsoft-account-solution

Side note: if you have set up two step verification on the account the 'normal' password won't work on the xbox 360 console, but you will need to set up a App password.
