I neglected to include that part. I have been in touch with both Play Station and Minecraft and I've been advised to reach out to Microsoft. Perhaps there is a permissions issue? Authentication issue? This has become so complicated. We can't even use a different email address at this point.

You need to sign in with your Microsoft account credentials and not your Minecraft account

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues signing in to your Minecraft account. For us to isolate your issue, please provide the exact error message that you are receiving.

In addition, delete all Xbox and Microsoft from your credentials manager. There is a high possibility that your previous credentials are saved in your cache and being used automatically to login to Minecraft.

Credential Manager lets you view and delete your saved credentials for signing in to websites, connected applications, and networks.

To open Credential Manager, type credential manager in the search box on the taskbar and select Credential Manager Control panel.

Select Web Credentials and Windows Credentials then delete all Xbox and Microsoft that you will see.
