Trouble signing in to xbox live games on PC

I've searched for a resolution to this issue for ages now to no avail. I have purchased and played both the master chief collection and MSFS on steam, as of recent when I try to launch these games it prompts me to sign into a really old Microsoft account of mine that has been lost due to the email being recycled and me failing the account recovery. I try to press the option to sign into another account - the window closes then re-opens on the exact same screen prompting me to sign into the original account. This is locking me out of my games which I'm not too happy about. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both games, performed a fresh install of windows 10, upgraded to windows 11 and the issue is still present. Since installing win 11 I have signed into the Xbox app and Microsoft store with my new Microsoft account however it's still prompting me to sign into the old account.

I'm at a loss for what is still linking that old account to these games seeing as this is now basically a fresh PC with no data remaining from my old system. If someone could please point me in the right direction so I can remove that account login prompt from my games so I can play with my new account - - or even better, let me sign into my original account, change the password and email so I can save my data. Also the reason I can't pass the account recovery is because it's asking me questions which I can't answer because the last time I used the account on Xbox was years ago across multiple consoles and I can't get any ID numbers off my old Xbox because It's long gone.
