trouble joining calls/xbox parties (Xbox one)

My sister accidentally unplugged the wifi then instantly plugged it back in whilst my Xbox console was on so I’m not sure if that affected Anything but when I went to call a mate through Xbox discord it just kept randomly disconnecting me until I couldn’t even join him. We switched to an Xbox party but we couldnt hear each other and I kept getting the error (0x80004005) so I searched it up and followed the steps but it’s still not working, does anyone know why? It’s probably some network issue i don’t know exists but I’ve tried turning the motem off for 30 seconds then turning it back on and waiting yet still nothing. (I’m not a tech person but the UPnP said it was disconnected or something? Not sure if that’s the issue or if it helps.)

Pheeble, in order to determine or at least have a signal as to why the problems you're describing are occurring, I invite you to run an advanced connectivity test on your console and let me know all the values you obtain.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings. Select Test network speed & statistics.

yes you can join parties.

I wouldnt call the xbox one old gen as the series x is just an upgrade.

I agree too. Xbox 360 has Xbox Live Party & Video Kinect. The joy would be partly gone if Skype-Call were to wash Xbox Live Party out as a chat app/feature on the Xbox One. Xbox One should continue the Xbox Live Party legacy/heritage so to mention. I mean
look at how many people join an Xbox Live Party and love it's name XD

Side note, My husband said he has the same trouble if it is game chat he can join in, but he can't join the party if they are playing on 360s, his friends change to game chat for him.

I was trying to join a couple friends and their invites wouldn't show up at all. Signed out / dashboarded and signed back in and I had the invites but could only join the party, not the lobby. I restarted the Xbox and could only join the lobby, not the
party. I also couldn't hear one of my two friends even though a couple days before all this I had no troubles with any of this. So crazy.
