Trouble installing games to different drive

Is this on an older Xbox One and not the Series? If so and you're installing to the internal drive try adding a USB 3.0 drive and install there or vice versa if you're already trying to install to an external.

Sorry to hear it. There's been a lot of updates for the game since you deleted it. If you're having trouble installing the disc (more than likely due to the updates) try taking the console offline via the settings if you're wireless. If you're connected
with an ethernet cable simply unplug it.

If this does not work then the game may not want to install in that spot. If you have a different storage place (ie. external drive) then try installing the game there.

Is this the only game you're having trouble installing? If so then it may be better to try installing to an external USB 3.0 hard drive. You can use up to 3 drives with up to 16 TB each.

The reason I suggest this is because I had a similar issue with Destiny 2 years ago and it turned out to be a corruption in the drive.

You can install DLCs on a different drive than the one the main game is installed, rest assured. Just note that for Series S/X optimized games the game (and I believe the DLCs too) would need to be installed on the internal storage or on an expansion card, as they cannot be installed on external storages.
