Trouble downloading as an Xbox 360 backwards compatible game

I have recently tried to download this game as an Xbox 360 backwards compatible game in the "games with Gold" section of my Xbox One home screen. I selected the game, then selected the "see price" option and then "continue" I then received an error message
stating that I cannot make this kind of purchase on Xbox.com and to make the purchase on my console, which I was already attempting to do. I then attempted to purchase the game on Xbox.com and received the same message.

Quick question!

Buying a 360 game on Xbox.com adds the game to your download queue on the 360, so the next time the console switches on it can begin downloading. The ''ready to install'' list on Xbox one runs from your purchase history. So as long as the game you are buying
IS backwards compatible, It should work.

BF4 Xbox One and 360 Online Crossover?

Only backwards compatible games as far as I know

You would need to be playing a backwards compatible 360 version of a game on the xbox one in order to play with friends who are on a 360.

As Battlefield 4 is available on the xbox one I wouldn't think the 360 version would be made backwards compatible.

If you're on a child account, you will have to make the purchase on a 360 console. Otherwise, make sure you have a credit card or paypal on file to make the purchase.

Backwards Compatibility only works for full titles that are available on the backwards compatibility list. Game Demos are not included in the backwards compatibility feature. If you want to try a specific Xbox 360 game out before purchasing and downloading,
you will need to download the demo on an actual Xbox 360 console.

It's not gears 3, (for as far as i know gears 3 is not backwards compatible)

I can't download any backwards compatible game.

Is there another way then to log in on a xbox 360 console? like if i buy a physical disc of a backwards compatible game, would it work then? and would i be able to download 360 games after that.

As some additional information. to the answer already specified.

The backward compatible game while it is the same game the download is basically different version of the game, being the backward compatible version of the game. This is also the reason why inserting a backward compatible game via disc will result in the
backward compatible version being downloaded (disk is still required to start the game)

So in order for you to download that backward compatible version you will have to login to the Xbox Live Account that is used on the 360, which allows you to download backward compatible games that you own.

Xbox 360 games can only be downloaded on either a 360 or, if they are backwards compatible, on an Xbox One.

Xbox 360 game codes do not work on PC.

You can of course redeem codes for consoles using a PC web browser (or a browser on any device for that matter), but the game will only be downloadable on a compatible Xbox console.

which games are u trying to download? not all xbox 360 games are backwards compatible. if you're sure the games you're trying to download are backwards compatible, press the xbox button, go to my games and apps and check your owned games.
