    Trouble creating an account for a minor


    I am trying to set up an xbox live account for my 10 year old son. We go through signing in as him, then it asks for approval and has me log in to my account. I click the button to accept the agreement and I get:

    live.xbox.com redirected you too many times.

    Try clearing your cookies.

    ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

    I have tried clearing cookies, I have tried using Microsoft's Edge browser. I am at a loss and don't see any numbers to call for support. I am hoping someone on here has an idea.

    I've been doing some digging online for you about this error message and this came directly from a MSDN Blog
    here. Going out on a limb and say that you want to try out #2 since it seems to be pertinent to you. There are also some
    other solutions on the page from others but these are their official solutions.

    1. If you are trying to turn an existing email into a Live ID then chances are that email already *is* a Live ID. If you don't remember the password for this Live ID anymore, you can either reset it (try http://windowslivehelp.com ...
      the current password reset page is here) or go create a new one.
    2. If you are trying to create a new Live ID then you should go to Microsoft account instead.

    hiya im trying to create a new account but i keep getting a error message everytime i do its the first time ive come across this error before and i cant really find anythign on the net about it the message is

    "The portion of your email address that follows the @ symbol is part of a reserved domain such as live.com, hotmail.com, msn.com or passport.com. Please type a different email address."

    the email im trying to use is from hotmail so i dunno how its not letting me use it any help on this would be usefull

    Question, are you under 18? I'm not 100% certain but it sounds like your settings are locked because your account is created as a minor's account.

    You have to respect the rules, and make sure that your child does not access your account, create another with restrictions for minors.

    Did you set your birthday as under 18? If you register as a minor like that, it'll make you create a parent account during the account creation.
