Trouble connecting my headset to controller

I have purchased three brand new headsets for my xbox one controller and none of them work. It is so very frustrating! I can plug them into my playstation and all of them work with that, but they won't work with my xbox. I have the 3mm jack controller.
I have also done all of the updates. How do I get the headset to work?

need help

recently, ive been having some trouble with connecting my headset to the xbox. what i mean is that little space underneath the controller which u can plug ur headset in, for me it doest work, please help

Controller/headset

Is anyone having trouble with the headset, after the latest update my headset seems to no longer work. I've tried to unplug it from the controller, reset my controller and reset my Xbox but still not working.

Since you mentioned that the headsets work on your PS you might have a faulty audio jack on your controller. Do you have another Xbox controller you can try? You might want to look into getting your controller repaired or replaced. Here is some info for

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. If you are having connection problems with your Elite then I would recommend returning it for an exchange or setting up a repair of the controller.

As for the headset connection I cannot recommend the Xbox Headset Adapter enough. It provides a much more stable connection for the headset and has volume and mixer controls right at your fingertips.

I have had my adapter since the Xbox One came out and have never had to exchange it. It works just as good as the first day I bought it

Yes the headset is connected in jack to the controller and the headset works when connected to my phone.

I've been having trouble with my mic not working properly on one of my controllers. I figured out that my controller was the reason why my mic sounded bad. I tried to connect my mic with a better working controller and I couldn't talk. I looked at all the
settings and couldn't find an solution. I think the mic is linked to the other bad controller in some way.

is it an Xbox Official Headset (or Stereo Headset) or a third-party one? Do you use an adaptor or do use the 3,5mm jack on the controller?
