trouble adding kids to my 'xbox family'

hi,

In order to play Minecraft on Android phones with family members, each member needs to be defined as a 'friend' to join the same game. To have rights for a 'friend' property, each user needs proper xbox privacy account privacy settings.

My kids want to play together. I logged into my xbox privacy&online safety site using web browser. There I only see my own gamer tag, and none of the kids' tags. When I click on 'Microsoft family' link, I get to the Microsoft page where I am also listed
but there also each of the kids have their own Microsoft accounts listed and I can see that I am listed there as their father. How can I add the same kids as my children also on the xbox account, in order to update the privacy settings, to allow the kids to
play Minecraft together?

Note 1: we have no xbox console. Only android phones and a web browser running on a pc.

Note 2: all the kids do have their microsoft accounts, as well as xbox accounts set up. Their xbox accounts just are not linked as child accounts on my xbox account page. This linking is what I would like to accomplish.

If anyone reading this - I finally got hold of a skilled Support guy who helped me via chat! Thanks!

 

In case someone is interested, with the help of xbox support I got this thing correct. They did a 'pull up' for each of the kids, after which their accounts became visible under my xbox account.
