TRIM Support for external SSDs in the Xbox One's OS?

As I'm looking to get a Samsung 850 Pro SSD soon for my Xbone to reduce loading times for games (Getting a 4TB HDD to act as storage for all my games, already got that covered, almost running out of space in the internal 500GB stock HDD) & I'm wondering does
it have TRIM support inbuilt in the operating system? since Microsoft allow third party HDDs, SDDs & SSHD to be use as externals for a while now & have been wondering, the Xbone's operating system is basically a heavy modified version of Windows 10 which that
has inbuilt TRIM support to keep SSDs performance top-notch for years to come. I ask this because I don't want my SSD to keep losing performance in reducing loading times for my games over a period of time all because they don't have a small file of coding
in the system to talk the external SSD to stay optermized. If it does, then it's fantastic! I'll go buy myself that SSD & HDD asap, if not then I highly recommend passing on this information to the software department whoever is working on the Xbones to add
TRIM support in thier next Xbone software update.

    :)

Rise of the Tomb Raider only starts with DLC installed, if console is switched offline.

If anyone is interested, we managed to find that the problem only occurs if the game is installed on an external ssd.

If the game is moved from the ssd to the internal hdd the problem does not occur. Formating the ssd and moving the game back did not fix the problem. Other games launch fine from the external ssd.

The problem seems to be linked to (external?) ssds and (Rise of the Tomb Raider?) DLCs.

just Read a 56 page PDF file of rumored MS strategies and next box info.

SSD will probably be too expensive. chances are there will be an internal SSD though. with external hard drives for data and such like for 360.

Will the Xbox Series X be able to use my external SSD

This has been covered and been mentioned as it has been a big concern. Right now, yes you can use your external SSD to play Xbox One and Xbox 360 games but you will not be able to play stored SX games on the external SSD. To be able to able to play SX
games they need to installed on the Series X's SSD not the external one.

    Backward Compatibility Startup Framerate Hiccup

Everything related to the Xbox 360 is loaded from the internal HDD of the Xbox One even if your playing a disc (your really not).

So it stands to reason any hiccups in the Xbox 360 intro sequence are probably down it being a bug or down to HDD/CPU speed issues as it's just a video/animation playing.

    1) You have a launch Xbox One without the newer hybrid SSD/HDD in later Xbox, though I do have one and cant say I noticed this but I also haven't been looking for it either.

    2) The HDD is under strain from loading a particular title, the HDD's in the Xbox One are slow laptop 5400RPM drives, not speedy drives by any measure, if the HDD is struggling to keep up loading the game, the Xbox 360 OS the intro animation may glitch out.

The CPU in the Xbox One originally had a portion of it walled off to handle background tasks, this was scaled back to the bare minimum to improve the performance of the Xbox in games, this has affected the OS and background tasks as they are now forced to
compete for resources. This can manifest in some situations like when starting an app is says please wait a moment or when in game you press the Xbox jewel on the controller and the OS Home screen doesn't respond the first time.

As to a fix well you could try getting an external SSD drive and install your Xbox 360 titles onto it, that would eliminate any speeds issues though I cant say for certain everything related to the Xbox 360 would run from the external SSD, from what I've
heard though all Xbox 360 titles on the X1 are packaged individually with Xbox 360 OS so if that's true then the Xbox 360 stuff should run from the SSD alongside the game assets.

If it still happens even with the SSD then it's probably a bug of some kind nothing to worry about really and pure SSD's are so much better than old HDD's or hybrid HDD's to begin with so it's nice to have one for Xbox use though sadly a lot of the built
in system apps cannot be moved to external SSD only games and third party apps.

    Xbox one X

Hi. No there wasn't a Xbox One X with a internal SSD built in. You can buy an external SSD to use if you choose.

    Xbox One S HD?

Yeah - if they went SSHD like the Elite then no doubt they would've flaunted it in marketing.

Will just carry over my external 500gb ssd, want to keep OS drive workin' on OS stuff and game assets separate anyways (assuming architecture similar to existing XBO).

    Xbox DVR Audio Issues

I'm using a Series X and the recording is being done in the internal memory which is empty (only OS), all my games are played from external memory (SSD designed by seagate)
