Tried to update Xbox One controller - Failed, never turned back on

    Hello,

Recently, I attempted to update one of my Xbox One controllers, when it got to 3%, and said the update failed, and it turned off my controller and never turned it back on. I have attempted to reboot my xbox, replace the batteries, tried charging it with
charging components, and tried to update it again but it kept saying that there was no xbox controller plugged in via USB. I attempted to use the Xbox Accessories app on Windows 10, but it says there is not controller connected. Please help me!

    :)

Take out the batteries and plug it in via usb. Then wait a couple of minutes. It should eventually start working. There won't be anything in the UI that tells you its fixing it but this worked for some people.

You can also go back and run the update manually again to make sure it is up to date.

I can't edit my post now, but Major Nelson posted in a thread on /r/XboxOne over 2 years ago and said to do this

    support.xbox.com/.../update-controller-for-stereo-headset-adapter

You'll see troubleshooting tips on that page.

"What happened to you is similar (as far as the console sees it) to when the USB cord gets disconnected while updating but the power outage scenario does not cause the error page to pop up.

We designed the update process so the controllers shouldn’t brick during the update. Also, once the controller recovery process completes, and the controller turns on, you should update your firmware again."

Hello, when trying to update your controller make sure the usb lead is fully connected and also if it's not re-syncing with the console there's a button on the left side by the disc tray. That manually re-syncs it.

The problem is, when I plug in my controller via USB, the controller still doesn't turn on (without batteries). I try to go to the update screen with another controller then plug it in, and it says there is no controller plugged in.

Tried to update Xbox One controller - Failed, never turned back on

    Hi

Please carry out a hard reset on the console then once the console has restarted and dashboard loaded plug the controller in using a USB lead and leave it alone for a couple of minutes then select the option to update controller even if it's greyed out.

Hopefully the controller will update and be back up and running
