    Tried to change Gamertag but was told that I already did...


    I tried to change my gamertag but a pop up stated that I already used my one free pass for changing my gamertag. Thing is, I never did and it has been the same from the start.

    I really want to update it but as a broke student, don't really have the 10 bucks to fork out for a name change.

    Does anyone know if there is a way to dispute this with MS?

    I want to change my gamertag to a currently unused gamertag but it won't let me.

    Me and my friends are changing our gamertags and i had my friend check to see if the gamertag I wanted was available , so he did and it told him that it was available. When I tried to do it though, it told me that the gamertag was already in use. I even
    tried sending a friend request to the gamertag I wanted to check and see if it was really taken but it told me that the gamertag did not exist. Can some one please help? It's telling my friend that it isn't taken and we confirmed that by trying to send freind
    request to the gamertag but when I try to change it it tells me that it's already taken.

    Did not change

    Today I tried to change my default gamertag from "PilotCamera5850" to "" and it Did not work and later when I tried again it said that I already changed my name and I did not.

    The free GT only applies to new accounts (within 30 days of account creation) that received auto generated GTs on creation. As it looks like you were not assigned an auto generated GT and were able to choose your own GT you would not have a free GT change
    option.

    I am having similar issues. My daughter tried paying to change her gamertag the other day and it did not work, but for whatever reason support told me that it did get changed but we cannot access the avatar from her xbox, only from the computer. I am not

    I made a honest mistake in my gamertag.

    Is your gamertag currently M capital i and lowercase L? ( MIlk ? )

    Were you told it was invalid when you first tried to change your tag to Milk or did they tell you this when you contacted support?

    Sorry you're not getting the answers you want, but the only way to contact the enforcement team is by submitting a case review through that website. However, as I said, since the gamertag did violate the code, even submitting a review will not get you the
    gamertag back. The site should show you why it was changed, but it will be for the same reason I've already told you.
