Tried everything, and xbox still disconnects from xbox live after a few minutes.

Hey guys, so I got a wireless N adapter for my xbox 360 for christmas as well as a 12 month subscription to xbox live, but I can't seem to stay connected to live for more than a few minutes. I have researched the problem for almost a week now and I can't
seem to solve it. I don't have access to the router settings (its a complicated situation between my parents and me), but I have tried everything that doesn't have to do with the router, and just about everything that has to do with the router. My parents
even contacted the service provider and they couldn't do anything about it. HOWEVER, they did restart my router (or my parents. don't think it matters who did), and I did get to stay connected for a couple hours. The problem came back after that though. Is
it possible that the adapter is defective? I kind of want to know if other people are having this issue as well.

Another thing, about a year ago (when I still was playing on xbox live) my xbox was connected to the router through an ethernet cord, and everything worked fine. Not sure if that helps. We have moved since then, and my xbox is now in my room.

The router is about 15 feet away from my xbox, in the living room, however there are a few walls inbetween the xbox and the router, and the xbox sits in an entertainment stand in my room. Could that be causing the disconnection problems?

Xbox games keep freezing

Take out the main power for a few minutes and disconnect your internet. After waiting a few minutes, turn your xbox back on with the internet still disconnected. Everything should be fine from there. You can turn your internet back on in game. Hope this

Also, I know about NAT, and my router is set to moderate, and not open. I know that can cause problems, but the problem I have also effects things like Netflix. I watch a movie or show for 5 minutes, and I disconnect from Xbox live, which consequently causes
me to disconnect from Netflix.

 

Hello!, Stuff like this can still affect netflix because your router's firewall is blocking tcp and UDP reqs from and to the server. you can fix this by enabling DMZ. Would you provide your router make and model number. and your ISP please?. also any errors
that come up if any?

Another update, I've convinced my parents to move the router to my room so I can connect my xbox to the router with an Ethernet cord. I don't disconnect from xbox live anymore (I don't think), however I am still getting disconnected from games (I think I'm
losing connection to the game servers). To be clear, I was losing connection to xbox live before (I was getting the message at the bottom that the connection was lost).

 

Yes the Technicolor TC8305C can cause so much issues with xbox live! I fixed disconnects by setting DMZ like I said. Let me get you a link to my tutorial! also I suggest setting a static IP like on my tutorial.
