Tried a lot with no success.

Recently been experiencing a strange phenomenon while playing my Xbox 360. Play a game for an hour or two, then hit the dashboard to do something else. "Connect to Xbox Live." I was literally just playing online. Watch stuff on Netflix, then hit the dashboard
to do something else. "Connect to Xbox Live."

I've looked up and tried many solutions. Delete your system cache, delete your system cache 3 times. Delete your Xbox Live Profile and recover it. Format your hard drive.

Not only would my console refuse to connect and recover my profile, but after the format it still wouldn't connect. I've restarted my network countless times. Unplugged modem for 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minute; Port forwarded (yay let's get DDOS'd offline
because people are bad sports in Video Games.) , unlugged ethernet from console, restarted console. Nothing has worked.

So, after deleting all the games I've purchased, lost all of my saved games, and everything else on my hard drive... I finally get a glimmer of hope. "Hi, . Downloading Profile."

What's that? Can I finally play again? "Cannot connect to Xbox Live."

Done.

Unable to connect to Live.

I restored factory settings (which took a lot longer than I thought it would) and directly routed it to my xbox with no success.

Tried with the router because why not, also no success.

Checked upnp and dmz settings for both devices, still nothing.

Netflix disconnecting from Live

Tried that for a second time with no success.

Edit: Just connected to Xbox Live. I can almost guarantee that if I play something for a while, I won't be connected anymore.

Hey DarkChaosweaver! Glad you were finally able to connect!

Another disconnection is possible though, since there are currently some ongoing issues with the Xbox Live service. Xbox Staff are working on fixing the issue and keeping all us players up-to-speed with periodic updates on the
Xbox Live Status page.

If you do get disconnected, you can at least know that you're in the same boat as the rest of us, so don't worry about it too much! Just keep updated on that status page and hopefully once those issues are resolved, you won't have any further issues connecting
to Xbox Live!

If you do have any issues after this interruption is resolved though, let us know so we can help you get to the bottom of things!

I tried to do a lot of things before this, with no success. I ignored the obvious because my connection is wired, but it started working when i reset my router.
