Trial code not able to use on new account

When I activated it, it said that it was ''backwards compatibility code''.

so when i applied a 14 Day Trial code that came with a new XBox One. That activated fine as a "14 Day Trial to XBox Live Gold" and the backwards compatibility thing. However, when I try to play forza horizon it still asks me to sign-up to an XBox Live
Gold subscription.

New consoles come with 3 free one month trials, not 3 free months. They're only available to new gamertags made on the console, so you won't be able to use the trial on an existing account.

The trial codes do not give you full Gold privileges. The codes are limited in scope so you will need to verify what the trial is actually good for.

No. Those trial codes can only be used for new subscribers. Since you already have Ultimate, you won't be able to use it. Trial codes do not stack anyway.

Also, since those are trial codes it might not be possible to use both codes on your account. Game pass trial codes will typically only work with new subscribers, so once you have used one trial you will no longer be considered a new subscriber.

Hiya!

Typically XBOX Live Trial cards dont expire because they are included with just about every system that is sold. But once a XBOX Live trial card is used and an account is set up, you wont be able to use any other trial cards.

Is this something relatively new? Cause I've used several "14 Day Trial" codes before and all have worked...
