treasure map help

I have the eso treasure maps, but I went to one of the locations, I am unable to dig it up at all, any reason why I can not?

Treasure Map

Hope this isn't a foolish question, but I downloaded the "Treasure Map" DLC, but don't know how to access it...is it integrated into the regular world map, or is it a second map? I can't find it or anything new on the regular map...thanks!

You have to look for specific mounds of dirt. If the mound of dirt is not there then it may mean that you do not have the map as they do not appear otherwise. Also you may be in the right area but wrong spot. If they are CE Treasures from those maps, then
you can get walkthroughs off of You Tube for every one of them. This is also true for the other maps you can find in game.

FullHornet is correct. You must have the specific map in your inventory then when you go to the correct location there will me a mound of dirt you can interact with. There are maps and walkthroughs online if you have trouble. The maps work much like the
treasure maps in Skyrim i.e. a rough picture with an X marks the spot.

Treasure maps do not come in order, thankfully you just find them randomly. I have enclosed a link to UESP of treasure map 4:

Simply change the "IV" to any of the 12 maps, make sure they are in roman numerals though.

I think other than the first treasure map you find, all the maps will correspond to another island. Took me awhile to figure that out trying to find the Abaco Island treasure. I hope the rewards get better because so far, it hasn't been worth it finding
the treasure imo..
