Treasure Hunt crashed on the first two attempts at a Bonus Level, possibly intermittent

Hi,

I'm running Windows 8.1 ver 6.3.9600 N/A Build 9600 64-bit and Treasure Hunt ver 1.0.1405.747.

The first two times I tried to play a bonus level, the game crashed out from under me when trying to display the advert video, sending me to the desktop. The first time started me over at the start of Level 1 (I had found the bonus exit in Level 2), and
the second time started me next to the bonus exit, but that may be because I exited and re-entered the game before clicking on the bonus exit to force a save / cloud sync. In both cases the app restarted itself and I was able to re-select it from the Modern
taskbar on the left side of the screen. I have the Windows 8.1 Update 1 option to display Modern apps on the desktop taskbar turned off.

I had just installed the game, and the Store app was also still open. I closed all apps (both Modern and desktop), rebooted my computer, started Treasure Hunt, and was successfully able to complete that bonus level.

I'm not sure if this is an intermittent problem, or if closing the Store app and rebooting the computer finalized the install in some way. I'll post again if the problem does or doesn't recur. I'm not sure of the frequency of bonus levels so I'm not sure
when I'll get another bite at the apple.

I wasn't aware there was a Treasure Hunt game until I saw the advert for it while playing Solitaire Collection tonight.

Problems with Treasure Hunt

I have been playing Treasure Hunt for a few week now and have two issues with the game. First and most frustrating is that there are numerous occasions when the numbers signifying adjacent trap are incorrect! Secondly I have experienced game lock up ~6

MICROSOFT TREASURE HUNT PROBLEM

Can anyone tell me the correct procedure to follow to report this problem about Microsoft Treasure Hunt? Just a half hour ago, as I was playing Treasure Hunt, the game shut down. I started the game again, and all lives, tools, and gold amounts had disappeared,
restarting me at level 1. I can't even remember what level I was playing at, somewhere in the 80's. All tools were at full level, and all items had been purchased with the coin I earned in the game. Really this is upsetting, though it be only a game.

 

I got two more bonus levels: On the first one, the advert came up as "Cannot Load" with a Play button. Hitting the Play button played the prior advert, and I was able to complete the level. The second level went off without a hitch.

The advert (MS Solitaire Collection) was the same for all three levels.

 

Level 13: I had nearly the entire level cleared, found a door to a bonus level, clicked out to the main menu and back to the game to save it, and I was back at the start of Level 13. I'm not sure if my gold/dynamite/etc got reset, too.

 

I've run into a lesser glitch twice with the bonus levels, once at level 23/24 (not sure which) and again at level 28. The bonus level plays fine, but when exiting back to the regular level, the level indicator still says "Bonus level" instead of reverting
to "Level 28", I'm stuck in place and can't move. If I back out to the main menu and re-enter the game, the level starts over. On the do-over of 23/24, the bonus level worked properly then returned me to the level, and I'm hoping the same will happen with
the do-over of level 28.

 

I just got the major glitch again: Crashed to the desktop from the bonus level in level 34, and now have to start over at Level 1. *D'oh!*

I had gone so long without the glitch that I'd gotten out of the habit of exiting to the menu to force a save before playing a bonus level.

Oh well, I guess that gives me a shot at the "Money is Evil", "Efficient Shopper", and "Extra Careful" achievements.

 

Level 34 bit me again: I got to the bonus level stairs, exited to the menu and re-entered the game, and got dropped back at the start of Level 34, minus the pickaxes/dynamite/maps I had previously used. On the next attempt I was able to complete the bonus
level and finish Level 34. I don't have a photographic memory, but was able to make it through with what little dynamite I had left.

Oh well, that's better than starting over at Level 1 like I did the last time.

 

Something more ominous: When the game crashed at Level 34 the first time, I had purchased numerous upgrades, which were all reset to default levels after the crash. I was unaware at this point that upgrades were supposed to be permanent.

I just died the "Normal" way, and kept all my upgrades. Starting at Level 1 with 5 hearts, and the ability to carry 4 pickaxes, 20 dynamite, and 10 maps is going to make my next run-through much easier, plus I'll be able to afford to blast for much more
treasure at levels 5, 10, 15, etc.

I don't know that I want to crash on purpose on a bonus level and lose my 20 dynamite bag, but I supposed I'll have to to see if this is reproducible.

PS: In my last game, I repeatedly walked into traps on Level 41 to keep going back to the Shop to get the upgrades. Unfortunately, Amulets became astronomically expensive after 5+ repetitions, and I soon after died for real. I guess I should've bought
the 10 Shield Pack when it was offered.

 

I'm going to log this as a bug first thing tomorrow morning. Do you happen to have any screenshots of this?

 

Unfortunately I don't have any screenshots. I'll see if I can get some later, but I'm back at work on Monday and my department is 50% understaffed, so it will be a work/commute/sleep week, so I may not be able to screenshot/post anything until Saturday
or Sunday.
