Transform and adult account into a child account

Hi,

my 12 year old son is using an account I created with an adult email address ( Icreated that email as an adult, not with the birthdate of a child).

I see the need to restrict his access times, because he has problems to control the time he plays, but although I changed the profile of the email address (on live.com), it still doesn't allow me to define access times.

The xbox account is meant to be created by an adult, and the adult adds a child account.

And if the first account (adult account) is used by a child, there is no way to transform it right to limit the access time.

My only goal is to make sure that my son has 2 hours each day, and not more available to play, and starts searching for other activities.

I hope somebody can suggest me what to do.

If I delete the account, he will probably los all contacts with his schoolmates, his achievements and scores. I'd like to keep everything as it is now, just with the surprise, that after two hours he gets the message that gaming time is over.

Child account promotion

Hello, I ask you to convert my child account into an adult, since I recently bought an Xbox then I have made an acc's age and so I am over 18 but still have a child account, so I would ask you to put it in to transform an adult!

Change my account to a child account

Hi,

I want to activate parental control for my son, but the problem is that he has a profile and status within the games he plays (and an Xbox Live Gold membership) connected to the adult account I first created. If I give him a child account I am afraid he
will loose all that? Can I transform my adult account into a Child account so he can keep his own profile and ranking, so that he does not loose anything (except full freedom to play unlimitedly...)???

There is no way to make an adult account a child account. Only child accounts can become adult accounts not the other way around. Changing the age on the microsoft account wont change the age on the Xbox Live profile. That cannot be changed.

If you want to be able to restrict his play time then you would have to make them a new child account. Unfortunately that means they would lose their game progress as nothing is transferrable between accounts.

That however would really be your only option at this point though.

So I delete the account, create a new one with my ID, and add him with a child account.
