    Transferring Xbox Live account to new microsoft account


    I have an old Gamertag and Xbox Live account linked to an email that I haven't used in years. I would like to move that Gamertag along with my digital game purchases to my new Microsoft account that is linked to my current email.

    I no longer have an Xbox but would like to use the windows 10 store for now in case I end up buying an Xbox One someday.

    the only tutorials for transferring an account I could find were very old and seemed to require logging into an Xbox 360.

    Is there a way to just do this on my PC with the Xbox App for Windows 10?

    When I tried to sign in with my current microsoft account it automatically created a generic Gamertag which I'm hoping won't lock me out of moving my old one over.

    Same Gamertag and Points For Xbox Live when New Xbox Is Released?

    I have been thinking about this, with the new Xbox, will everything be transferred or create a new Xbox Live account?

    I just hope creating a new Xbox Live will not happen because its absolutely absurd but we may just never know, this is Microsoft. Or am I just getting paranoid?

    When you change your Microsoft account, your Microsoft Points and Xbox Live Gold are automatically transferred to the new Microsoft account.

    Sadly I wish I could simply just change the email however I can't because my mom is still using and needed her Microsoft account and email. And I do not wish to transfer the data form the Xbox live profile to new profile I wish to transfer the actual Xbox

    First, welcome to the Xbox community. Unfortunately, this is not possible, as from the moment an Xbox account is created it will be forever linked to the Microsoft account, and there is also no way to transfer games or subscriptions to another account.

    What you can do is add an Alias, but I don't think that's what you want, but if you want to know how to do this please follow the instructions in the article below.

    You can change the email address connected with the account but you cannot transfer the GT to a new MS account.
