transferring Xbox content/progress

I've read a few articles, and I don't see this particular question answered. I'm going through a divorce. My son's xbox account was created 10 years ago under his stepfather's Microsoft account. Can I transfer his content and progress to my Microsoft account, or is it all going to be lost? We've spent a lot of money over the years, and it would be frustrating to lose it all.

Ok normally you can't change the ms account and nothing can be transfered

(Sorry I donno the reason why they removed the feature)

But lately

No servers allows it

Just a note changing emails is dangerous because of how people freely give away account details for the sake of a free game I donno if that's the reason due to increased security but who knows it would make it more difficult to hackera

However if you didn't create an outlook email or hotmail or live you are in luck

You can change the alias email via accounts.microsoft.com

Xbox 360 Transfer Cable. If you want to use a USB flash drive to transfer the content, that's possible as well. If you need help or instructions, look

In addition to transferring the content, you should do a license transfer to transfer the content rights for your DLC from your previous console to your new console. Instructions

You can't transfer content between accounts. It's tied to the account that was used when the progress was made.

@ darthsidious17, just transfer only your offline saves like game progress,,,forget the purchased games and contents, anyway, you can still redownload them once you login on Xbox Live

Hi, thanks for the update
It seems that you created the email for your daughter under your own Microsoft.

The thing is that as your daughter has their Minecraft progress (and basically "her" xbox profile) under your account.
When you create a new Microsoft account for her, you are not going to be able to transfer the progress
Because any type of content transfer can't be made between Microsoft accounts
