Transferring Xbox 360 DLC downloads and game updates to Xbox One

I'm wondering how I can access all my Xbox 360 game DLC on Xbox One.

I've already transferred all of my Xbox 360 game saves / game profile data to the cloud from my Xbox 360 hard drive ready for use on the Xbox One. But how can I transfer the DLC downloads from the Xbox 360 hard drive to an Xbox One.

I also wonder how the stored game updates would work as well, because my Xbox 360 hard drive has game updates stored on it. Would these be transferred in the same way as DLC?

Would I use the cloud again? Because the cloud only has a limit of 2GB on Xbox 360 which isn't nearly enough. Unless theres another way?

This Needs To Change...

Hi,

If you purchased the season pass for Borderlands 2 on your Xbox 360, then this downloadable content will also transfer to your Xbox One. It's always been this way. However, it won't download on it's own, you'll need to manually download it. My Xbox 360
Fallout 3 game's DLC transferred over. As for game saves, you'll need your original Xbox 360 for that. When you upload your saves to to the Cloud on the 360, they will be available on the Xbox One.

If a BC game ran like was a native Xbox One game, you wouldn't be able to play other users on their Xbox 360 consoles. Playing an Xbox 360 game as if it was an Xbox One game wouldn't make the Xbox 360 games suddenly look as good as Xbox One games. Only
the Xbox One X has the power to 'Enhance' certain Xbox 360 software, and it still achieves this running through an emulation of the 360.

Hmm I did not take the multiplayer to note.

Also it didn't transfer. The season pass was not there, yet all the other DLCs I purchased was there.

Will the xbox 360 data transfer cable work for transferring save files, games, and dlc over to the xbox one?

Hello GR412,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. You are correct in using the cloud. What you need to do is enable loud save on the 360. All data will then be stored, like save data etc. As for DLC that all comes down to the developer as some DLC is playable
as backward compatible and some is not. For example Black ops 2 first two dlc are playable the others need to be repurchased. Hope this helps you out, please let us know if need anything further. Here is a

I see, so all the DLC that is backwards compatible is just free on the Xbox One? I don't need to transfer my old DLC downloads from my Xbox 360 to Xbox One?

Hey GR412,

You are correct. Any backwards compatible DLC you own, should be available to download from the store free of charge. In some rare cases, you might get a message saying you are unable to download certain content from the store, here you would simply

Manage Add Ons and you should be set. Hope this helps!

In My games & apps, select See all, locate the game, and then press the
Menu button.

Select Manage game & add-ons.

Select the Ready to install tab.

Select the add-on you want to install.

Press the A button to install the add-on, or select
Install all

The data transfer cable is used to transfer the entire content of a harddrive from one HDD to another for the Xbox360

DLC, games and savefiles will just be available for download but will not be transferable through the transfercable. Savegames need to be saved to the cloud on the Xbox 360 before they are made available on the Xbox One the other content will just be available
as a marketplace download or from the ready to install list

You can, if the content was first downloaded on that console after the purchase.

If you switched consoles after the account purchased the DLC, that account has to sign in on the new console, and do a

License Transfer, and then re-download the DLC again.

With the DLC-owning account signed in on that Xbox 360 console, go to the settings hub on the far right of the dashboard, and then to "Account". There under "Your Billing Options" is the option to do the "License Transfer".

After the License Transfer is done, you need to download the updated usage license of the Broken Stell DLC simply by re-downloading the DLC from the marketplace or your download history. If you still have the DLC on that console' storage device, it will
simply download the tiny license file instead of the whole DLC.

After the License Transfer and re-downloading the updated usage license, the DLC can be used offline again by any other account.
