    Transferring to new Xbox Series X for Xmas...


    Hi all, my son will be getting a Xbox Series X for Xmas, of which I will transfer all his games an settings from his Old Xbox One S to the Series X. I will obviously do this ahead of Xmas due to the amount of data and GB that needs to be transferred.

    However my question is: When all the data is transferred to his new Xbox Series X ahead of Xmas Day, will he still be able to use his old Xbox One S with Xbox Live subscription as per normal up until Xmas Day?

    PS, He is 10 and still believes in Santa and will still want to use his old Xbox One S on Xmas Eve...

    Yes, your son will still be able to sign in on the Xbox One S and play games on it.

    No it won't affect him on either console.unless he don't have home switches left even then that only affects digital downloads

    Hopefully he does and at least able to sign in online

    Best way to do this is get a 3-5 tb external hdd and copy the files over now

    You want the extra room also if he needs to patch his games just move them over to internal storage

    Keep in mind patched games won't run on external hdds

    Hopefully you got.the series x already or pending shipment because everything is in short supply even food due to the global crisis and worldwide chip shortage

    Operation SAVE Christmas only applies to us and UK ONLY and for the ps5

    Due to the chipshortage not everyone can get a console even with that operation

    Thanks for the response and confirmation.

    He has a Xbox One at this Mams and a Xbox One S with me - both connected to the one Xbox Live account (mine). The Xbox One S will be replaced with the new Xbox Series X. He would find it odd if the days leading up to Xmas he was unable to use his current Xbox One S... and drive me crazy.

    Yes, you can use the expansion card or even an external hard drive to transfer the games to your new Xbox Series X.
