Transferring to larger external disk

So I've very very nearly run out of room on my 2TB ext disk. What is the "correct" procedure for migration to a larger disk?

(Picked up a 5TB for a bargain price)

External HD causing cinematic stuttering?

If there's no cinematic stuttering when the affected games are on your 1TB external HDD and your internal Xbox One HDD, then there is likely something wrong with your new 4TB drive.

I'd consider transferring your content back to the original destinations and replacing the 4TB drive.

Through my personal experiences, getting the largest drives currently available can have a relatively higher chance of failure.

You may just want to use it with both drives connected (if that is an option for your configuration) and just start adding your new games to the new drive. As you can't just do a disc copy and copy the entire contents from one drive to another it could
become a little tedious to copy/move each game and its contents separately. Not impossible just a bit time consuming.

I wasn't aware that you could use two at once. Could've saved some money!

Don't have enough plug sockets for that sadly. Looks like it's going to be a one by one transfer. It's only just over 100 games...

Personally, I have all of my large games on my external drive and anything smaller on the internal. Just so if I upgrade or have to transfer, I won't have to redownload the larger files. But that's up to personal preference.

Once you transfer them to the external, they will only be on the external. So yes, if the external breaks, you will have to redownload any content.
