Transferring saved games

I recently purchased a refurbished 360 because my old one had the laser/disc drive crap out on me. I was using a 120gig hdd on my old unit and figured that I would just use it on my new xbox. It works, but none of my saved game files show up. Is there something
I am doing wrong or that I can do to fix this?

Game Saves

Games saves are signed to the account who saved the game initially. Transferring someone else's saved games to use with your profile won't work.

Bergan: Yeah. I used the transfer cable and moved all my stuff over. Now on to the task of re-downloading every bit of DLC I own. Yay...

IceStorm: Okay, that was a really stupid mistake on my part; I wasn't logged into the account that owned the files. I just assumed anyone could move them.

I thought you only had to do that for xbox live arcade games. If so how do I transfer the licenses?

Content licences are for every downloaded item, not just Arcade games.

How you do a license transfer is in the link OwenKiller already posted, under the heading "Can I transfer a content licence from one Xbox 360 console to another?".

The license transfer only transfers content lisenses. It does not transfer game saves. You would have to use a data transfer cable as suggested or a usb drive to transfer the saves.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to transfer save games.

It saves the code to ur Gears 3 game saves on the console you have now! When you use the transfer cable, it will transfer ALL the game saves (including you're Griffen skin)! It's all game save data!

There are a couple of games that allow game saves to be transferred between profiles. Mass Effect is the only one I'm aware of. Otherwise, saves cannot be transferred between accounts.

Save your game to a usb with your profile dude and transfer the data to your own xbox. As long as the game save is under your gamertag and not your sisters you should be able to transfer your saved game by this method.
