I've been playing and saving game data on my 360. Only now have I joined live and want to upload/transfer saved game data from hard drive to my live account.

    How do I do this?

    Content transfer

Something else to try is power the xbox off, remove the hard drive you're transferring the data from, connect the data transfer cable to the xbox and power on, once the xbox reaches the dashboard connect the hard drive you're transferring the data from to
    the data transfer cable.

    -

If you are asked at all to configure the hard drive do not proceed any further, third party cables will wipe all the data and make the drives useless as xbox hard drives.

How to transfer data from memory unit to hard drive?

Recently I got a new hard drive for my Xbox 360. I had had my Xbox for 5+ years before I got the hard drive so I have a lot of data on the memory unit. On one of my games, I'm very far into it, however it's saved on my xbox's memory unit, not my new hard drive. I'm almost out of data on the memory unit so I'm not really able to make any new saves on my game. I was wondering if I could transfer the files for my game from my memory unit to my hard drive so I could continue playing?

    Hello,

The only way to get your offline gamer score to display in an online setting would be if you went to your offline gamertag, pushed the middle button on your XBOX 360 controller and went to Join XBOX Live. You would need to make a new e-mail account and go
through the motions of creating the gamertag. Once you do that, you should be given a randomly generated gamertag and log into XBOX Live, all of your offline achievements should be automatically attached to that XBOX Live Gamertag and will then show up on
    XBOX.com within 5 minutes.

Unfortunately, what you are suggesting is not possible with merging an offline profile with an already online one. The only way to do it is to start a new gamertag following the instructions above.

Xbox 360 to Xbox One Data Transfer Inquiry

Currently the cloud is the only way to transfer saves from the 360 to the One. The data transfer cable is only meant to transfer data between 360 hard drives.

    Xbox 360 hard drive

System Update Recommend Transferring all game saves and files to external hard drive and using the working internal hard drive as a back up drive that way the game saves and files are portable and you don't lose any data from the internal hard drive.

    Question About buying a Xbox

The transfer cable is only needed for transferring data from one hard drive to another. So if you were transferring your game saves from your old xbox hard drive, then you would need a transfer cable or flash drive. Otherwise, you can just follow GreyPilgrim's
advice and you'll be all set.

    Recover game data

Are you talking about save data for each game? If so you would need to use a transfer cable to transfer your files from the old hard drive. If you know longer have the old hard drive and didnt use the cloud you cant recover the saves

    Transfer game file...

Well, you can't transfer from gamertag to gamertag, if thats what you want to do.

    -

A easy way to transfer files for any game is to transfer the data from the hard drive on Xbox 360 A to the cloud, as your cloud saves are just stored on the internet. Then, on Xbox 360 B you simply retrieve your gamertag and then transfer the data from you
cloud to Xbox 360 B's hard drive. Then play!
