Transferring purchased games to XBox 360 console

Hi. I was given an old XBox 360 console and brought it from the UK to South Africa. I joined XBox Live Gold and bought a FIFA game but just cannot get it onto the console. I see it on my PC but can anyone advise on how to get it transferred to the console?

License Transferring does what the name says, it transfers the licenses of games to a different console. Transferring 360 games will not work with Xbox One's BC, it will only work with the account that they was purchased with.

This will happen if you purchase a game on another console other than your own using your gamertag, or you've transferred your licenses to another console.

If you have purchased a new console after purchasing content on your old console, or you purchased this content using another Xbox 360 (friend/family members), you'd need to do a license transfer to your own console so you're able to play games online and offline.

Information on how to initiate a license transfer can be found here. You should specifically be looking at the instructions under "Can I transfer a content license from one Xbox 360 console
to another?". You'll want to follow those instructions from the console you're not able to play these games offline.

Please remember that only the person that actually purchased the content holds the rights to being able to do a license transfer for that content. If the content wasn't purchased using this gamertag then doing a license transfer wouldn't solve your issue.

You can transfer your save games to the cloud to use on another 360 or an Xbox One, but you can't transfer whole games.

The reason being that your digital purchases are already in the cloud, ready to download again on a 360 or download the BC version to an Xbox One console.

If you need to format the console, you can go to Console Settings -> System Info and write down your serial number. Then go to System Settings -> Memory -> click Y -> Format (you will need to put in serial number here). Keep in mind though, that this will
indeed erase all content you might have on the console.
