Transferring profile to new xbox via usb

My brother and i recently got a new xbox, the old one is going into my room and the new one into his, but both of our accounts are on the old xbox. We of course don't want to lose any save data, so we're trying to move his account to the new xbox.

I've managed to get his profile onto a usb, but when i plug the usb into the new xbox, it says the usb doesn't have anything in it. I've checked on the other xbox and his profile is definitely on there. Please help?

I'm not sure why it's not turning up on the other xbox and really need to sort this out asap. couldn't find anything out online on the other threads, so any ideas are welcome. thanks.

Both consoles are Xbox 360.

Xbox 360 system transfer HELP

So I shared an Xbox 360 console with a sibling and we each had our own profiles. So I purchased a new 360 Slim and wanted to take everything associated with my account on the initial console (profile, achievements, game saves) to the Slim.

I transferred everything on a USB but although my profile and achievements transferred onto the USB and loads on the Slim, no game saves to be found.

What can I do to harvest the game saves from the original console without causing problems to my sibling's account and content on the original system?

As for backgrounds, they're not on the Xbox Store. You can upload your own picture via USB, or set an achievement art as one.

Congratulations on the new Xbox. In the past, I have used USB thumb drives to copy and move profile and game saves between Xbox 360s with no problems. But, at this point, let see if you can use a different method to get your brother's account on to the new
Xbox. May I suggest setting the USB aside for now and recommend that you start by downloading your brother's profile directly to the new Xbox. The steps on now to do this are outlined at "How
to add or remove an Xbox profile on Xbox 360" . Next, you can use another path by "Store your saved games in the cloud" to "Copy,
move, or delete Xbox saved games, profiles, and avatar items" and get his stuff over to the new Xbox. Let us know if this helps.
