    Transferring new data to Xbox One S


    I am interested in buying an Xbox one S, but I am not sure how hard it will be to transfer my save and game data to it. I'm sure I will have to reinstall games, but as far as save data goes, what's the best way to transfer that? I also have a 1TB external
    hard drive attached, but how do I tell if all the necessary data is on that for the transfer? Also can I tell what data is saved to that hard drive versus the internal hard drive?

    kingston data traveller memory stick, will it work?

    Any USB stick can transfer data from one hardrive to the other, i remember transferring my resident evil 5 save from my old xbox to my new xbox.

    Hi

    The game save data should be in the cloud so the console will just download the data when you run the game.

    As for the second question if you go to my games and apps and select either games or apps tabs in the top left of the screen will be a pull down menu that will let you select what drive to view or all.

    You should just be able to plug the external hard drive into the new console and it will recognise it straight away and the games will be available.

    The current model of Data Transfer cable will not transfer from one Xbox 360 S console to another. However, you can certainly use a USB storage device to transfer. :)

    Are hard drives interchangable??

    You cant use them on the new S consoles, but any older one you can. You can transfer all the data to the different hdd with the new console anyway so no worries.
