Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to transfer music from an ORIGINAL Xbox to a computer or ipod. My son purchased and original with TONS of music on it and I would like to transfer them just in case something happens to the Xbox. Thanks for your help

  2. Transferring music from 360 HD to USB

Hey all, my issue is with transferring music from my Xbox 360 Hard Drive to a USB Drive. When I attempt to transfer music, the option is "greyed out" even though there is plenty of music on the hard drive that I can access via the Xbox Music Application.
The USB drive is compatible, as I successfully configured it to be a Xbox 360 storage device with enough unused space. Also, the options for transferring game data, profiles, etc., are functional, all except music. Has anybody else ever experienced this problem?

  3. No Xbox Music Video

Doesn't solve the problem of purchased content, that being Xbox music videos failing the promise of all music and videos transferring with your account from the 360 to the One.

    Transferring music

You could do this a few years ago. I am not sure about anymore. But try this.

    • Plug a USB drive (Xbox has them up to 32GB) into the Xbox's USB port and turn on the Xbox.
    • Press the A button to select "My Xbox," "System Settings" and "Memory."
    • Highlight the USB Storage Drive icon on the screen and press the A button.
    • Highlight "Music" and press the A button to select.
    • Press A to select the songs in the Transfer Content window, and click "Start."
    • Remove the USB drive from the Xbox after the transfer is complete and plug it into your PC's USB port.

    • Double-click the "My Computer" icon on the PC's desktop and double-click the USB drive icon. Drag and drop the music from the USB window to the desktop.

    • Click "Safely Remove Hardware" and "USB Mass Storage Drive" to unplug the flash drive.

      And this should do it

  5. There was no USB on the original xbox, was there?

I believe there was a way but it required simple modification, which can`t be discussed here.

I am sure youtube will explain all.

My apologies. I assumed original Xbox 360. Haha. There is no getting music off of the OG Xbox.

HDD Transfer Not Seeing All Music

What kind of music? Music you ripped from CD to the drive, or things like Rock Band tracks?

I just ripped a CD to one of my consoles and then connected a drive and transfer cable. I see the option to tranfer all music when I elect to set up a transfer from the console to the transfer cable device.
