    ok. So I purchased the basic Minecraft edition through the Microsoft store on my surface pro 3 computer. Because I bought it through the Microsoft store, am I able to transfer it to my xbox without purchasing Minecraft again?

    Best way would be check ir out on xbox yourself hopefully you wont have to buy again

    Like Doc Holiday said Minecraft has 2 versions playable on Xbox One(Bedrock or Xbox One Edition), but what you were hoping for doesn't work. I will say though, If you get the Bedrock edition, which is just called Minecraft in the store, you'll be able
    to do cross-platform and play with people on Mobile & people using the Windows 10 edition.

    You would have to transfer the whole game, you cant transfer the world individually. Go to My Games and Apps-> Minecraft XB1 Edition-> Start Button-> Manage Game and Add On-> And the Transfer game. If the USB is being picked up and its can hold Minecraft
    it should let you transfer
