Transferring Hard drive with games

I'm almost positive you can if you have the hard drive space but not at the same time. Plug one of the hard drives in the hard drive bay. Then plug in your empty hard drive into the transfer cable then the transfer cable to one of the usb ports on your xbox.
Transfer the data and repeat for the other hard drive. That should transfer all the data onto one hard drive. Hope this helps!

The transfer cable won't work that way. The system is set up to only see that to transfer data between Xbox hard drives. You would need a 360 hard drive attached (if games require them) or you can use and external USB hard drive or flash drive and redownload
the games to that.

just formatted my hard drive and its still saying unformatted i think my hard drive is broken and needs replacing

if i buy a new hard drive or Xbox do i need a data transfer cable to transfer from hard drive to hard drive?

The transfer cable would transfer data from hard drive to hard drive. But it's not possible to transfer anything between accounts.

You can get a Hard Drive Transfer cable and use it to transfer everything from the old hard drive, to the new one. They cost $19.99 new, or you can possible find one used at a game store near you. Using a USB thumb drive to transfer files won't always work,
as some games lock files to the hard drive, as well as some games (Forza for example). Not to mention, depending on how much is on your hard drive, it can take a a long time and be very tedious.

You will definitely be able to get your game saves from the cloud storage on your new Xbox 360, so long as they are not locked to your current Xbox 360.

Also, you won't have to delete all the files on you're Xbox 360 hard drive when you're done transferring them. You can format the hard drive in the settings, and if I remember correctly, when you use a hard drive transfer cable, the old hard drive gets formatted
anyway.
