    Transferring Games from one PC to another


    Hi guys,

    I'm running the latest build of the Xbox app for PC (where it allows me to choose a folder where I install my games)

    The version numbers are below:

    2112.1000.20.0 (Internal)

    3.59.16003.0 (Gaming Services)

    Long story short, I am trying to download Forza 5 that I bought but my internet is too slow but my friend who has better internet than me and also running the same build of Xbox app as me is downloading the copy that he bought and downloading it to his target location.

    TLDR: Would it be possible to transfer game files from one PC to another and make my Xbox app recognise the files within my own installation folder? (similar to how Steam allows their users)

    I understand its early days but curious!

    No, it's not possible to transfer the game from one PC to another. Your only option is to download the game.

    I understand you need help on transferring a DLC from the Xbox one to PC.

    Just a heads up, the game does not support play anywhere option which means that you cannot transfer from one platform to another. If you have this game on PC, you may need to buy the DLC on the PC as well as they will not be transferrable from the Xbox One.

    The data transfer cable is made to move files from one hard drive to another. It's not made to work with a PC.

    Thank you for reaching out! You should be able to transfer your PC games from one computer to another via an external hard drive.

    Thanks for reaching us out here in the community. Unfortunately, there's no option to transfer your games locally from a PC to another PC by using external drive or via network transfer. You really have to install it from the Store.
