    Transferring data from dead xbox 360 to xbox one


    My xbox 360 kicked the bucket last night but I was able to salvage the precious 250 gb hard drive. Unfortunately, I haven't been religious in my cloud backups, so I want to keep the data on that drive. Is there a way to transfer the data to my new xbox
    one? Help suggests I copy everything to the cloud first, obviously that won't work as my 360 is dead. They did make an hd-2-hd transfer cable at one time for the 360. Perhaps, that could be the solution? Please help.

    1. The Data Transfer Kit will transfer content from Original Xbox 360 to Original Xbox 360, or from Original Xbox 360 to Xbox 360 S. :)

    2. The data is moved, not copied, so the content will not remain on the source drive.

    3. All data will be transferred.

    Never. There was a data transfer from my old Xbox 360 to this one.

    Unfortunately the cloud is the only way to transfer save data to the One. Any purchases that are backwards compatible can be redownloaded.

    Do you have any friends on Xbox Live still using an Xbox 360? If so you could ask them if they would allow you to put your HDD onto their machine and sign in to Xbox Live with it, once you upload your saves to the cloud you can disconnect your account
    from that machine and hopefully that will resolve the issue with the backups.
