    transferring data between 2 external drives


    I have been using a 1TB external HDD for all of my games but since I'm running out of space I got a new 2TB external WD passport drive to store my games and saves. The Issue is that when I try to move the data from my 1tb drive to the 2tb drive. I click
    on the game and click move game (I even tried copy also) The Xbox closes the move/copy/uninstall menu and kicks me to the dashboard.

    The only other way I see on how I can move my data over is to have my old drive transfer as much data to the internal drive then replace the 1tb with the 2tb then transfer over to the new drive. Is there an easier way to do this without re-downloading everything
    from the cloud??

    Xbox One transfer cable from the 360 to the One ?

    HHHHmmmmm good call. I will have to see about transferring my 360 content to a external drive and hope the ONE can see that content from a external drive but im HOPING for a easy transfer cable. However if they dont i could download data over time.

    Is it still better to use external hard drive for load times on X1X?

    You'll likely find an external drive to be faster unless Microsoft gimped the USB transfer speeds for some reason. The internal drive only has a data bandwidth of 60 MB/s, which is honestly god awful, especially for a $500 console. An external drive, especially a good one, should be able to surpass that easily.

    The transfer cable won't work that way. The system is set up to only see that to transfer data between Xbox hard drives. You would need a 360 hard drive attached (if games require them) or you can use and external USB hard drive or flash drive and redownload
    the games to that.

    You have the option to use the MS cable for transfer data is that one:

    Image only to ilustrate, because you have to buy the MS original one, have other´s cables in sale, must of them causing trouble in the transfer.

    If you want make a backup (because in the process all data will moved to your new hd and the older will be empty after the process), please use a USB memory device for that!!!They have the capacity lited for 32 GB i believe that fits perfectly to your hard
    drive.

    Using a USB device memory is a good idea and a way to make a backup, but have one problem...

    Some games (like Mass Effect francise =1,2 and 3),have a protection and can have only one archive and block the copy(even for backup!!!).

    I have do this all process twice (one for myself in the same 360 i transfer the data from 20GB hd to a OEM 320GB hrad drive and another, helping a friend to transfer from fat model to a slim 250GB model), when you start up your machine IF YOU USE THE MS
    ORIGINAL CABLE, and that is correct conceted the system isn´t enter in dash and imediatily detect the hard drive and ask´s if you want transfer data and (if didn`t jump press butons in hurry to "speed up" the process)ask´s what you want to transfer (if i remeber
    is 3 options: Transfer all data, Transfer profiles ONLY or Transfer specific files.

    Some observations about that...

    When you select to transfer all data that transfer really all you have in hard drive, less two things...if you have optional updates, you have to download that again (like if you have downloaded the optional media update or the optional update to Xbox originals,
    you have to go in your download history and down again that update.
