Transferring Content (not 'License Transfer') Multiple Times Within One Month? - Xbox ...

Hi everyone!

I have a quick question that I'd be really grateful of help with regarding
content transfer between Xbox 360's (not license transfer).

Backstory if it helps, if not skip to bottom

My mum and I share an Xbox 360 and have separate profiles She loves the Lego games, I love the action RPGs. Towards the end of last month, the disc drive failed in our old white Xbox so we ordered a pre-owned slim 250GB from Game (UK games retailer). A mistake
it would seem.

Before it arrived, I transferred all of our content from the ol' white onto a 16GB USB stick.

When the new Xbox (pre-owned) arrived, I transferred all of the content from the USB stick onto the HDD, then went into the settings to transfer the licenses of the DLC we have to the new console. (We only have Banjo Kazooie 1 & 2 and Harley Quinn's Revenge
and Cold Cold Heart for the Batman titles).

Unfortunately, the controller that came with the new (preowned) console faulty with the retailer (in their infinite wisdom) required that we send the whole console back to them for replacement or refund. So, again, I transferred our content back onto the
USB stick. We have now ordered a shiny brand news Xbox 360 which should arrive shortly....

Question:



I understand that through no fault of ours, we have lost the right to transfer our DLC license to the 2nd new console for 4 months through
license transfer as we have already done this once, but are we allow to transfer our
content (profiles/saves etc) for the 3rd time to the new console or will this get us banned from Xbox Live? Can you transfer content multiple times?

Quite upset to have lost our DLC mind..

Please note that a license transfer can only be performed once every four months.

 

Transferring disc exported songs to a new 360?

Transferring isn't an issue as the transfer cable will transfer everything over with the exception of game installs.

However you will want to use the license transfer tool on the Microsoft site otherwise you would have to be online all the time to use the purchased content.

Edit: If you are selling the original hard drive with the console and are then unable to do the transfer then you will have to stick your gamertag, save games and the RB1 export files on a memory device before selling and then do the licence transfer on new console and download everything else..

If you phone support on 0800 587 1102 & explain the situation to them they may let you do another license transfer before the 4 month waiting period.

It's not 100% guaranteed they will but i know it has been done in the past under certain circumstances

 

I transferred all my licenses about a month before my old 360 broke, now i have bought a new one but the boy cant play my games on his profile for the next 3 months

@OP you will be fine to move your profile and saves around.

 

Thanks everyone! Looks like I'm safe then.... So even if I transfer my content to the new Xbox from the USB, (which will include saves, profiles and the now unusable DLC and Live games), so long as I don't actually try and transfer my license again I won't
get my new console banned?
