I am absolutely dumbfounded that a company like Microsoft has no "tools" to transfer an account balance from one account to another. My son accidentally put a gift card redemption code in a non-working account and they have no way to transfer the account
balance to our working account. All we can do is buy a gift for him from the non-working account but the gift can not be a gift card nor can it be vbucks for fortnite, etc. yada, yada, yada...seems slimy to me. It is not "systematically possible." Nice
and convenient for them but completely lame for an advanced company like Microsoft. But, what they "can do for me" is tell me about the forum to post my thoughts. Gee, thanks Microsoft. Does anyone there even read these?

    :)

How to check your Xbox MSP expiry dates

I've seen some comments on this elsewhere in the forums, and while someone may have posted this before now, I've certainly not seen it.

For those unaware and concerned over their Microsoft points expiring, you can check the exact date that they expire. Sign into Xbox.com with your gamertag, click My Account at top right, goto Billing History and then click the Payment Options tab, this will display your recent Microsoft points purchases and their expiration date. Naughty, naughty, Microsoft. :nono:

All Microsoft points will expire 12-mths after their redeemed date. It's not just the points that you had on your account before they were converted to real currency, Microsoft points that you can still currently buy today will also expire after 12-mths.

If you don't like Microsoft vapourising your virtual money then you'd be best to stick to the new Xbox Gift Cards, but with Xbox One and day-1 digital right around the corner I am sure most of us will use this money up before it gets checked out and placed into BillyG's bank account.

And here's another bit of info from the FAQ, I'll bolden the interesting bit. It mainly states whenever you buy anything Microsoft automatically use the money that is closest to expiring.

Live Account over 360 and Xbox One

Doesn't this work exactly the same way as PSN. It isn't your Xbox that has an account it is YOU the gamer have an XBL account.

YOU log into YOUR ACCOUNT on your XB360 and it works.

YOU log into YOUR ACCOUNT on another XB360 and it works

YOU log into YOUR ACCOUNT on XB1 and it works.

Transferring account balance from non-working account to working account

Actually many read the xbox forums where gamers try to help fellow gamers. I have to tell you that there is no way to transfer currency among accounts. Once you redeem the code under an account the balance can be used only from that account.

That being said if you have suggestions on how to improve the service:

They also do it to help protect us. A lot of people, especially young children would get duped into transferring money to someone else’s account.

Also, I’ve used a gold code on s wrong account and called support immediately. They canceled that gold and issued me a new code. Not sure that is the norm or if they’ll do it for currency (probably not) but I was just throwing that out there.

    Hi Upcast,

With all respect, the forums are used to ask for help and support, not for posting rants. It is frankly, your responsibility to know which account a code is redeemed to, and for what content your younger family members play.

I do hope you take my advice on board, so this does not happen again. When you redeem a code, it clearly states that it is non transferrable, as well as purchases made on accounts.

    Best,
