    Transferring A Child's Account to A New Childs Account


    I am trying to move my Childs Xbox profile to a new account(different email). I followed the instructions created a new account... it works fine. The existing account does have billing information and it has used an Xbox gift card to purchase a 3 month
    subscription but is currently expired. No other subscriptions has been used on this account. I have went through the account settings on the Xbox to switch accounts and at the end it says "Can't transfer accounts... see some website that doesn't work". Any
    advice?

    As long as they can actually play Mature rated games online on this console then i'm happy.

    Followup to this question.

    This morning I started a chat with Microsoft support. She said I needed to wait for 30 days until I could transfer the account to the new account. This is to deter theft/fraud. I am okay with that.

    She gave me an alternative. "Go to manage alias and add an alias that is not associated with a Microsoft account." So I created an email address and added it to the list of email address aliases. I verified the email and made it the primary. All seemed
    to go well to this point. I was going to remove the previous email address and it indicated that I would not be able to use this email address to sign on for Microsoft Services. I wanted to keep this email address and switch my account over to this account.

    Hopefully more to follow, but I think I am going to have to wait for the 30 days.

    Unfortunately you can't change an adult account into a child account and you can transfer items among different accounts. Just make a new child account for your child and associate your account as parental account.

    It is not possible to convert an adult account to a child account. You would need to create a new child account. There is no way to transfer any of the saves or gamerscore to the new account from the adult account.

    You can create a new child account for him, but nothing can be transferred between accounts.

    Time limits can only be set on child accounts.

    Your best solution would be to make a new child account and use the home setting feature to share games

    You can't change an adult account to a child account. He would either need to continue using the account as is, or you would need to make him a new account that is a child account. If you start a new account it will be a brand new account. Nothing will transfer
    over.
