Transfering Save Files

Hey there. I'm attempting to download a completed save file [GTA 5] off the internet, onto a USB, and into my XBOX 360. When moving it to my hard drive [XBOX] it tells me that I cannot transfer this item on a different profile. Is there a way to work around
this, as it's just a save file?

Crossplay is not an issue, but play anywhere potentially is. On 360 many of the CoD/GTA hacks were profile/saved file based. What this means was a player would transfer their save to the PC (using USB/transfer cable) and modify the files. A modified console was not required.

It is my understanding that it's not possible on XB1 yet, but with Play Anywhere's save transfer, it could be. So in theory someone could start a game on PC, mod their save file to give all perks, cars, etc. then transfer that back to their Xbox. I would assume that at some point MS will have some sort of save file verification when transferring save files from PC to Xbox and vice versa.

What you're attempting to do would be a violation of the terms of service and cannot be discussed on these forums.

 

No - it's the complete opposite. I didn't ask for some kind of "hack" to do so, I asked if there was any ways. I didn't say that I wanted to violate the ToS, and if I really wanted to, I wouldn't be stupid enough to post on the XBOX forums. [But I don't
break rules, because it's a waste of time and money.]

 

The transfer of save files and the downloading of files online to be used in an xbox is against the TOS and can lead to enforcement action being taken against your account and/or console. There is no "work around". As an ambassador, you should know this.

 

Read the post and you'll see that I said "GTA 5" and "save game". That clearly means it's OFFLINE. Transferring save files is NOT against the ToS, and as a high level Ambassador, YOU should know this.

 

F. Cheating & Tampering

Do not cheat in a game unless the developer has deliberately enabled cheats.

Do not use unauthorized hardware or modifications.

Do not exploit game vulnerabilities or glitches.

Do not make unauthorized modifications to your account profile or its contents, including but not limited to tenure, Avatar,
saved games, Gamerscore, or achievements.

Do not intentionally play with someone who is using unauthorized software or methods.

Do not play any illegitimately obtained software or pirated games.

Do not take any action to cause degradation of service for Microsoft or other users, including but not limited to network interference or manipulation.

Do not play a game before it has been authorized for play on the service.

What you are trying to do violates the code of conduct and can result in a permanent ban.

 

Save files are only meant to be used by the account that started them. They are not meant to be even seen by a computer or downloaded and transferred between accounts. Offline or online it is a violation of the terms of service.
