  1. Transfering Minecraft save worlds from Xbox 360 to Xbox One Legacy

So since the last update for Minecraft on Xbox 360 I can no longer upload saved worlds to my Xbox One and enjoy them there. It says...

    "Newer Save Version

This save is only compatible with Minecraft (2017)"

I know Microsoft refuses to support Minecraft Legacy on Xbox One with any more updates. But why release the update for Xbox 360 making it incomparable with Xbox One Legacy. Is there any work around or fix for this, maybe roll back my Xbox 360 one update
so it no longer has the Aquatic release.

    :)

Transferring old Minecraft saves from 360 to One

This may help if not , let me know

How do I transfer my saved worlds from Xbox 360 to Xbox One Edition?

You’ll need to ensure you have the latest update for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition by starting the game while connected to Xbox Live. The most recent update contains a feature that allows you to upload one saved
world at a time to a save transfer slot. You can then use the Xbox 360 save download feature on Minecraft: Xbox One Edition to download that world. You’ll need to make sure you download that save to your Xbox One before you can upload a new save using your
Xbox 360. You can do this as often as you like, but you can only transfer one saved world at a time.

How do I transfer my saved worlds from Minecraft Xbox One Edition to Minecraft for Xbox One?

You’ll need to ensure you have the latest update to Minecraft by starting the game while connected to Xbox Live. Choose “Play” and navigate down to the bottom, here you will find a button called “Sync Old
Worlds”. Select this button and choose the world you would like to transfer. You can do this as often as you like, but you can only transfer one world at a time.

Transfering Minecraft save worlds from Xbox 360 to Xbox One Legacy

    Hello Army,

Sorry for the issue with the game. Unfortunately, there is no way to roll back an update to a certain point. If on the 360 you can roll back update but when you start back up will update to aquatic release again. On the Xbox one there is no way to roll back
updates. the updates come from Mojang for the game itself.

    Thanks,

    Brad

  5. Sorry but this isn't possible. The game has been updated too far for it to transfer.

  6. So is there any chance that I will ever get to run my worlds on Xbox One someday or am I stuck staying on the 360 forever?

  7. Hey there ArmyVeteran 19D!

Sorry to hear about your trouble loading in your worlds.

I would say that if you haven't already tried, I'd try to remove and redownload your account as outlined on our support page entitled

How to add or remove a Microsoft account on Xbox One
and see if that helps at all.

As for the future of how well the older saves/worlds will click with future updates for Minecraft,
Mojang would actually be the best source of info on that. I would probably visit their support page for more info.

    Hope this information was helpful.

    Thanks!

I have, in fact I started with their support teams who keep redirecting me back to Microsoft. From Mojang Support...

So Mojang sends me to Microsoft, Microsoft sends me to Mojang who then sends me back to Microsoft and around and around we go. It would be nice if one of you stood up and said, yes this is an issue from our end and this is or is not being dealt with. Something,
anything at this point. When neither company is willing to assist the customer it makes you wonder if you should continue to purchase either of their products any longer.

Point is you have made a product I paid for unusable. If you have no concerns or desire to correct this then let me know. I can forget about Minecraft on Xbox and since the only reason I bought an Xbox One was to play a better larger version of Minecraft,
guess I can sell my Xbox One then.

  10. The links above do not relate to my issue. As stated in my original posting, I can transfer my worlds from Xbox 360 to Xbox One Edition (Legacy version), but can not load or play them due to current updated versions released. Both my 360 and xb1 are fully
updated which is why I can no longer play my Xbox 360 worlds on Xbox One. Since the Xbox 360 is at a higher version number or content update version then Xbox One now, my Xbox One is unable to load the saves.

At this point it may sound odd, but my Xbox One is now outdated by my Xbox 360 so I have only been playing on my 360. So a console from 2005 is more advanced then a console from 2013.

    Hello Army,

AS you know Minecraft for Xbox 360 came first so there will be more updates and such as to why different version numbers this is why you are unable to use them on the Xbox one. They are two different versions, both need to be purchased. In this case since
you have them on the Xbox one we suggest getting with Mojang to see how to use them as they are the ones that release the updates.

    Thanks,

    Brad

  12. Both copies were purchased a long time ago now. Yes I know Minecraft was released on the 360 first and since they are different platforms obviously they will have different version numbers for each platform. Mojang is not responsible for Minecraft on Xbox
360 or Xbox One, Microsoft is. Mojang only deals with support issues for Java editions and Mojang accounts. The problem is Minecraft on Xbox 360 has been updated to a release higher then the current release for Xbox One Minecraft Edition making the two incompatible.
If Microsoft would allow Mojang to release an update for Xbox One Minecraft Edition to bring it up to date with the Xbox 360 Minecraft version they would. So this is a Micosoft issue as they control which editions get updates and when.

    From Mojang:

"The Minecraft editions you're playing on are handled by Xbox Support. This help center is mostly limited to provide support for the Minecraft Java edition and Mojang accounts."

It just doesn't make logical sense to update Xbox 360 to a more advance version/patch/release then Xbox One. Unless Microsoft wants me to toss out my Xbox one and stay on the 360 always.

Transfering Minecraft save worlds from Xbox 360 to Xbox One Legacy

    Hi there,

Have you hard reset your Xbox and power cycled it to see if Minecraft on Xbox One received an update as well?

I noticed this note on the Mojang support page for transferring worlds on Xbox Consoles: "Please note:
It’s not possible to transfer a world directly from Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition to the new version of Minecraft for Xbox One. To do this, you will need to first transfer the world to Xbox One Edition
and then to the new version of Minecraft."

If I'm not mistaken Minecraft Xbox One Edition was upgraded to the new version of Minecraft with the BTU but based on that note you would have to upload the worlds to the Xbox One edition and then to the newest version of Minecraft on Xbox One. I'm not sure
if this has anything to do with the issue but I figured it was worth noting.

  14. Yes, both my Xbox 360 and Xbox One are fully updated. Minecraft Xbox One Edition or Legacy Edition and the Xbox one Better Together Edition are not the same. The BTU is an inferior version of Xbox One Minecraft Edition based off of the Pocket Edition for
phone. It has extreme lag, chaotic menu system and broken redstone functions. I run Xbox One Edition not the BTU. So transferring to the new version of Minecraft for Xbox One has no relevance to me. They even state you need to transfer it to the Xbox One Edition
(the version I use) first which you can do. But once it is transferred to that edition it can not be used on that same edition.

    Minecraft

You can't transfer it from the memory stick.

Also, you will need to have the "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" game, not the "Minecraft" (without the "Xbox One Edition" in the name).

To transfer your world to the Minecraft Xbox One Edition, start your Xbox 360 Minecraft, and make sure you have the latest version of it installed by having the Xbox 360 connected online to Xbox Live.

The latest Xbox 360 version has a feature to transfer one world at a time to a transfer slot. Upload your world to that transfer slot, and then move to the Xbox One.

Start Minecraft Xbox One Edition. There you will have the option to import a transferred Xbox 360 game from the transfer slot.

Once the world is imported, you can repeat these steps for other worlds you have on the Xbox 360.

After you transferred all your worlds to the Xbox One Edition, you can start the "Bedrock Engine" Minecraft on the Xbox One, and again transfer your worlds from the Xbox One Edition.

If you don't have the Xbox One Edition, but only the Minecraft for Xbox One, please
    contact the official support.
