transfering games (2 household families) xbox 1S, Xbox Live, external drive

Hi, I bought a passport 1T external drive so both my kids can have more storage for their gaming.

Is it possible to transfer games (digital download or disc) from my xbox 1S to Dad's xbox 1?

Both households have Xbox Live accounts and the kids use their same login info to save progress.

My goal here is to erase the need to buy double games (one for each household). Is this possible and can they transfer the games via the external drive or is there a way to combine accounts etc? Thank you.

To transfer games from the internal hard drive to an external hard drive on an Xbox Series S or X, navigate to "My games & apps", select the game you want to transfer, choose "Move or Copy", then select the external drive as the destination and confirm.

As an idea for xbox one hard drives because they are internal and not external try plugging in an external drive to save or transfer all important games to external hard drive and leave not so important games onto internal drive
that way you can take them anywhere and not have hard drive failures with xbox one.
